25th November, 2012 - Willow Coppicing
A very windy morning, but a least it's not raining! We're wrapped up, wellies donned and ready to continue coppicing.
However, these one slight difference to our previous visit. Over the past couple of days the water level has risen, so a lot of what we want to cut is under water! Undeterred to get cracking with the job at hand.
Whilst we splashed around in the water, Gabby and George had the right idea and took to higher refuge.
Unfortunately, the further we ventured into the willow patch the deeper the water became. So we stayed in the shallows and by tea break finished clearing that area.
After tea break we decided to pack away the tools and go for a walk around the park. What we saw was quite surprising!
